RETURN TO EARTH (1', Romania, 2012)

A minimalist example of video art coming from a fine arts school, POP TUNDE’s compact poem is a protest against diffusion and uncertainty, which expresses in a sensorial way that short moment before returning to reality after being immersed in one’s own interiority.

“We look different, we perceive the world differently, we think differently. But none of us can stop the thought flood from our mind. We are overwhelmed by memories, pieces of knowledge and by our imagination. There are times when we want peace and everything to be clear and return to reality. Return to earth. Heartbeats. In bottles of various shapes and sizes, a dark colored liquid pours slowly, symbolizing the fluctuation of blood through the veins and highlighting the rhythm that sends us in trance, in meditation. The deep sound marks the deepening of the meditation. Time goes backwards, is perceived differently, comes back to reality, lacks air, the drops disappear, reach the peace of the soul and return to earth.” (POP TUNDE)
